Just a simple thing but we still find it hilarious at times.
Daisy and I had settled down after a long day of looking around town and swimming. We were both exhausted (so I thought) after the usual "good night" rituals, I rolled on my side and headed for sleep. As I drifted closer, you know, that lovely twilight stage where dreams start, suddenly, a shove on my shoulder that almost shocked me out of bed and a
"I want to talk to you mister!"
My dear Daisy, wide awake and wanting to discuss what I needed to do after my vacation.
As the fog cleared I went from confused to mildly irritated. Now she was confused, swearing that it was a light tap and barely a whisper..I imitated the way it felt and sounded to me (in my mind quite seriously) and she started laughing hysterically.
My "Dick Van Dyke" accent again tickled her beyond reason.
In that situation it was very difficult to stay even mildly irritated - forget about serious.
My lady's laughter can be quite contagious. Still, laughing when I am trying to demonstrate can't be tolerated.
I discovered that night, that it is close to impossible to spank someone when your belly aches from laughing.
I gave it the good ol' college try.
We ended up collapsing on each other, verbally trying to repeat the incident. Finally sleep was had, serious conversation put off till the next day, during civilized hrs. Glory, I love my wife.
Peace,
Davey
